The 20Q electronic handheld game from Radica is a great, cheap gift. I know it’s good because we’ve got one!
It’s an electronic guessing game where you think of a thing and 20Q asks you 20 questions (hence the 20Q name!) in order to guess what you’re thinking of.
You answer to each question by simply pressing one of the buttons for unknown, yes, no, sometimes. If 20Q doesn’t guess right within 20 attempts it’ll have another 5 goes before it lets you win.
The questions 20Q asks might seem rather strange …it’ll ask you things like:
- is it smaller than a loaf of bread?
- is it bigger than a microwave?
- does it bring joy to people?
Now, you’ll catch it out sometimes but often it’s surprisingly good at guessing ironing board, camel, diamond etc! It’s actually a fun educational toy for young children as it makes them think about how to describe an object – our kids love trying to beat it.
It’s small enough to plonk in your handbag or pocket and you can switch the sound on or off. Runs on two AAA batteries that seem to last ages. Widely available for around £10 from the likes of:
