The ad for comparison site Compare The Market featured a meerkat called Aleksandr Orlov and a spoof company called Compare The Meerkat. Despite being dreamed-up by two ad executives in a pub (honestly – but you’re not surprised are you?) and being rather daft, the meerkat has been a huge success.
The meerkat gift market is slowly catching up with the audience and there are now some meerkat toys, mugs and gifts available here and there.
